Baptism Bible Medley - It's Simple!

The Bible clearly defines the purpose and essentiality of baptism. I’ve tried to create a Cliff Notes version of this doctrine as it is described in the scriptures. I have not added any words or explanations. There are no gimmicks or tricks. I’ve simply lifted pertinent statements made about baptism from the texts and compiled them. (I did have to add punctuation.) Here is a compilation of Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 10:43, 1 Peter 3:21, and Acts 22:16.

NLT

Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. Everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name. Baptism now saves you! What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.

NIV

Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. Everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.  Baptism now saves you! And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.

KJV

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Baptism doth now save us! And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

What do you think? Does this align with what you teach and believe concerning baptism? Don't over complicate it. Don't over think it. Receive it. Obey it.
