Hosea 13:4 (NKJV)

4 “Yet I am the Lord your God Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For there is no savior besides Me.

4. The Word was God. Jesus is the Word.

 John 1:1, 14 (NKJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Words in italics in the KJV and NKJV denote an addition by translators for the sake of English grammar, but they were not included in the original texts. Jesus in John 8:24 and John 18:5,6 claimed to be the "I AM." The statement was so powerful that it knocked the soldiers to the ground. If we refuse to accept His claim, we will die in our sins.

14. The LORD (Jehovah in Hebrew) will come to the Mount of Olives. Jesus will return just as He left from the Mount of Olives. On this day, the world will see that there is just one LORD.

Zechariah 14:3-4, 9 (NKJV)

3 Then the Lord will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. 4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,...9 And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be— “The Lord is one,” And His name one.

Acts 1:11-12 (NKJV)

11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” 12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet,

15. God will judge and avenge His servants. Jesus will come on a white horse to judge and make war.

Revelation 19:1-2, 11, 13

19 After these things I heard loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”…11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war...13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

16. The Messenger (John the Baptist) would go before the Lord. Mark stated that this prophecy of the coming of Jehovah was fulfilled by Christ.

Malachi 3:1 (NKJV)

3 “Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,”Says the Lord of hosts.

2 As it is written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.”3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness:‘ Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’”

17. Isaiah saw the Lord (Jehovah) in heaven. The Lord told Him that the people would have dull hearts. John quoted this passage and said that when Isaiah saw Jehovah, He was actually seeing Christ.

Isaiah 6:5, 10 (NKJV)

5 So I said:“Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts...10 “Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed.”

John 12:39-41

39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again: 40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,So that I should heal them.” 41 These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

19. Isaiah said not to fear because God would come and save. He would open the eyes of the blind, unstop the ears of the deaf, loose the tongues of the dumb, and heal the lame. When John was in prison, Jesus cited His fulfillment of this scripture as evidence of His identity. God had come to save.

Isaiah 35:4-6 (NKJV)

4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear!Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer,And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,And streams in the desert.

Luke 7:20-23 (NKJV)

20 When the men had come to Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’” 21 And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight. 22 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. 23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

20. Psalms declared that in the midst of a storm, God’s footsteps would be on the sea. In the middle of a storm, Jesus walked on the water.

Psalm 77:16-19 (NKJV)

16 The waters saw You, O God;The waters saw You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled. 17 The clouds poured out water; The skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also flashed about. 18 The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook. 19 Your way was in the sea, Your path in the great waters, And Your footsteps were not known.

Matthew 14:24-25 (NKJV)

24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.

In conclusion, Jesus fulfilled all the descriptions of Jehovah in the Old Testament. He is the only Potentate. He is the only immortal. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He has all power. He deserves all the honor. Jesus is God!

1 Timothy 6:14-16 (NKJV)

14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
